Motion Software developed a next‑generation inspection and compliance platform designed for both field‑based assessments and back‑office reporting. Delivered as a cloud‑hosted solution, the system provides robust access to detailed, business‑critical information required for complex on‑site audits.

A specialist engineering and technology insurance, inspection, and consultancy provider engaged Motion Software to deliver this platform with bespoke customisations tailored to their operational needs. The system would coordinate, manage, and update the work of hundreds of field engineers and, once deployed, would become central to the client’s day‑to‑day operations.

Given the system’s importance, the client required assurance that their investment and continued access to the service would be fully protected if Motion Software were ever unable to operate. As a rapidly growing organisation with limited internal IT capability, they emphasised that they would not have the technical resources or expertise to manage their own system recovery.

A SaaS Continuity Escrow Agreement

SES provided a SaaS Continuity Escrow Agreement that secured all essential components of the platform, including system source code, client data, and documentation. Beyond safeguarding these assets, SES committed to performing a full service recovery and providing up to eight months of operational continuity should a disruption occur.

To ensure confidence in the arrangement, SES conducted repeated recovery simulations, with the client participating in functionality testing to validate that the restored environment met their expectations and delivered the continuity required.
